Santa Train 
Friday, November 25 & Saturday, November 26, 2011
Departs: 2pm & 4pm
Enjoy a scenic winter trip on our Santa train, leaving from our
Thendara Station (Old Forge) to Otter Lake and back. Travel through
frozen forests, hopefully viewing the crisp snow, frozen rivers, and perhaps a
wintery-critter or two. Mrs. Claus and Santa’s elves will be on the train to
entertain, enjoying holiday music and candy with all of the passengers. Upon return to Thendara, Mrs. Claus will lead the children to Santa’s Candy Land where Mr. Claus will be eagerly awaiting the children’s arrival, with hot chocolate for everyone. Take pictures with Santa.
Pumpkin Train
October 15 & 16 & 22 & 23, 2011
Departs: 10am, 12:30 pm, & 3pm
Take a creepy, spooky, & spectacular Halloween trip with the Adirondack Scenic
Railroad. Travel north from our Thendara Station (located just south of Old Forge) to Carter Station; look for our spooky friends in the trees and enjoy games on the way. Upon arrival at Carter Station , home to Wally’s Pumpkin Patch, each child will be able to pick their own complimentary pumpkin! The lucky child who picks the “Great Pumpkin” will have the opportunity to ride in the locomotive with the engineer (and their equally lucky parent), blowing the engine’s horn to signal the return trip to Thendara.
Upon the train’s return to Thendara, families may walk across the street to tour the old, haunted town hall, visit with some of their favorite spooky friends. Families can take pictures with these spirits from beyond & continue their journey through the town hall, to enjoy apple cider. and a spectacular show, joining ghosts, goblins, & ghouls in a Halloween costume contest. The winner of our costume contest will receive 2 tickets for our 2011 Santa Claus Train Ride in December.
