Refund & Conditions Of Sale Policy

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad does not offer refunds. In the event you miss your trip, a ride credit for this ticket(s) may be issued at the option of the management, and will not include any additional ticketing fees (i.e., processing fees, shipping fees, etc.). Ride credit is good for up to one year and is subject to availability. Date exchanges are subject to availability and limited to two date changes You assume all risk and danger incidental to the train ride, event, or performance whether occurring prior to, during, or after said trip. You assume all risk and danger of injury and you agree that the management, its agents, and the performers are not responsible or liable for any injuries resulting from such causes. No alcohol, drugs, or weapons allowed. You hereby consent to the reasonable search for alcoholic beverages, drugs, or weapons. You further consent to the use of your image or likeness incidental to any display, transmission, or reproduction of the event. Management reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct is deemed by management to be disorderly or who fails to comply with the terms and conditions herein.

Wheelchair Accessibility Policy

Please be advised that most of our trips are wheelchair accessible for standard size chairs. Some stations and stops do not have wheelchair lifts. Please see the train’s individual page you are interested in for more information. The maximum door opening width is 26 inches wide. Please make sure to measure your wheelchair before you make a reservation. If you have any questions or would like to reserve wheelchair seating, please contact the office toll-free at 1-800-819-2291. Restrooms on the train are not accessible, but there are accessible restrooms in all of our stations.

Thendara to Otter Lake

Q: How long is the train ride?
A: The train ride is approximately an hour and a half round trip.

Q: Where is Remsen?
A: Remsen, NY is a small town just north of Utica, NY.

Q: I have some mobility concerns, is this trip handicapped friendly?
A: Unfortunately, this trip is not wheelchair accessible. There is no wheelchair boarding in the Holland Patent Station; however, there is in Remsen. If passengers with mobility concerns can manage a few stairs to initially board the train and deboard in Holland Patent, we can assist in boarding and deboarding in Remsen.

A: Yes, all trips are round trips, with the exception of the Bike & Rail trip. The Bike & Rail drops you off at a trailhead in Big Moose or at Carter Station where you can bike back to the station.

Q: Does the train have restrooms?
A: Yes, the train and station both have restrooms. Restrooms on the train may not be handicapped accessible.

Q: Is the train wheelchair-accessible?
A: Yes. If you are bringing a wheelchair, we request that you come in a standard size wheelchair (not a large scooter) and that you notify us of any special travel needs when you make your reservations. Please arrive earlier than the reguarly recomended, half an hour prior to train departure to allow for extra time boarding.

A: Yes, there is a Cafè Car on board. All trains going to Big Moose do stop at the Big Moose Station restaurant.

Q: Do you sell food at the Thendara Station?
A: No. Although the station sells bottles of water and candy bars, the gift shop primarily carries Adirondack Railroad souvenirs and toys.

Q: Do you still run if it is raining?
A: Yes, the train does run in the rain and all cars, including the open air car, are covered.

Q: Can I bring alcohol on the train?
A: No, sorry but we do sell beer and wine our of our Cafè Car.

Q: Do you have an ATM?
A: No, there is no ATM at the station. Both our gift shop and ticket window are able to accept credit and debit cards.

Clown Train
